Pink Rhodes by Janice Ballard

Zandra Rhodes has been a printer and designer for over 50 years. She introduced printed chiffons, beaded edges, pleats, feathers, holes in fabric, safety pins and many other innovations to her creations. She was an early pioneer designer of the Punk movement in the 1970s.

Her influences include a Mexican sombrero, the Great Wall of China and the Masai tribes people. She lets her iconic textiles influence the shape of the garment.

She founded the Fashion & Textile Museum to showcase contemporary fashion and textile design, plus courses, workshops and temporary exhibitions. Janice’s piece gives a colourful flavour of Rhodes’ exuberance.

Materials: Various textiles, including silk and cotton. Work is for sale.
