Meet the Makers

Alison Hulme is an artist living and working on the edge of the New Forest. She has a huge passion for both nature and textiles. As well as creating her own work, she also travels around the country sharing her skills through workshops and talks.
Sarah Maddison is a Hampshire based textile artist. She is inspired by landscapes and the emotions they provoke. From a wild, rocky coastline, to a newly ploughed field; from the most modern of cities to our ancient landscapes, with their standing stones, circles and forts, they tell a story. Sarah sells her work through exhibitions and commissions and leads creative workshops.
Anne Hellyer is a Hampshire artist who creates hand-painted textile art by combining her love of paint and textiles with free machine embroidery. Anne regularly takes part in craft shows, gives talks and demonstrations and leads workshops.

Janice Ballard
Janice has been stitching since the early 1960s making clothes for her dolls. After graduating onto making her own and sisters' clothes, she discovered the joys of 'needlework'. This has morphed into a love of any and everything textile. A 'Janice of all trades and Master of none'. Influences and loves are natural patterns, texture, prehistory.
Sarah Davis lives in a village on the Hampshire-Wiltshire border. She is a lifelong embroiderer and knitter and enjoys experimenting with different techniques.
