January Roundup

Well we certainly started the New Year as we mean to go on with a fantastic workshop in very early January from our very own Alchemist, Anne Hellyer. On a freezing winter morning, we gathered in the toasty Kimpton Village Hall where Anne delighted us by sharing the many beautiful books she has made over the years. We were her guinea pigs for a new workshop she has developed which uses maps to make wonderful pocketed concertina books. It was such fun to be folding and sticking as a change from stitching – no needles in sight! Anne is such a patient and generous teacher.

Anne also set the first group project – which will last the whole year! To make a personal book about the year 2025 with twelve pages, one for each month – the contents is our response to that month in any shape or form. Can’t wait to see the different interpretations.

We are suddenly very busy – an exhibition in a wonderful space for 2026 has been confirmed and we have pencilled in another for autumn this year in an exciting gallery new to us. More on this in the coming months.

February will be full of planning and plotting as well as a much anticipated workshop from Polly Woolstone https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100027534441908
